Welcome to The Restorative Record

We believe past mistakes shouldn't define your future. So, we’re offering The Restorative Record to all applicants, an employment tool that lets justice-impacted individuals showcase their potential and help secure meaningful, lasting careers.

The Restorative Record at Cornell University’s ILR School CU@ILR was developed within the Criminal Justice and Employment Initiative (CJEI). The Restorative Record is a confidential platform for justice-impacted individuals to fairly represent and securely share their rehabilitation stories, personal growth and aspirations. It's a chance to present the full picture of your journey–the challenges you overcame, the lessons you learned and the support system that helped you get here.

Share Your Rehabilitative Journey

Let employers know your steps towards positive change: programs, counseling, education, or other rehabilitative efforts. Tell us about the milestones you've achieved and the skills you've developed through this process.

Highlight Your Support Network

Share the mentors, community organizations, or trusted allies who provided guidance, encouragement and accountability throughout your journey. Their involvement demonstrates your commitment to personal growth and reintegration.

Your Privacy is Our Priority. The Restorative Record is strictly confidential and will be used for the sole purpose of fairly representing you to potential employers. This tool helps employers committed to reentry opportunities understand your journey and make informed decisions. Our dedicated team will carefully review each Restorative Record profile, identifying a candidate’s unique circumstances, personal growth and potential contributions.
